early birthday yummies

so today one of my friends gave me an early birthday cake as we wont be working together for over a week as im on holiday as of sunday.

its a chocolate sponge with chocolate fudge icing, two packs of chocolate fingers, two boxes of malteasers, 4 bars of chocolate (melted), dark chocolate decorations with chocolate covered strawberries.

needless to say i love chocolate

only had one slice though, shared with the rest of the gang at work.

i can still smell the chocolate! YUM!

I can completely sympathize with you here, Uni kills off all own ideas and creativity. I'm currently in my final year. I do International Business, which has a considerable share of Marketing, but there's no creativity WHATSOEVER involved, all we do is theories and the 4 P's again and again (and who would have guessed it, again!). As for other modules, we're just told that we don't ought to have an opinion/novel idea, unless someone's written about it in a journal, so we can cite an academic. We're not entitled to an opinion until we graduate.
It makes me really sad, because it makes you do what they want, just repeat what others have said, and it's difficult to keep your natural creativity and urge to make your own mind up alive. (You obviously can and I put in every effort to, just saying they're really not helping).
As for doing one thing a day that makes you happy, I think that's a brilliant idea, good luck :)

  2. I had the same feeling school and college right up until the point where they actually give you open rein on what you do, uni was very structured and i dont think that it gives you any work environment skill for the jobs you may be applying for. of course this is just my personal experience but i still feel that the day i graduated is the last day i did anything remotely to do with the subject!

never mind, maybe ill do a course in baking or something and go from there...i seem to enjoy that more than i ever did uni or graphics lol.

    thanks for your comments!
